Born on February 5, 2000 just outside of Montreal, Homer -the iconic Rhodesian Ridgeback - is both the inspiration and official mascot of Homer Enterprises, LLC. He was one of eight siblings born to proud parents Tucker and Pingo. And although he wasn’t the biggest of the puppies (he had a sister who was slightly bigger) today he is by far one of the largest Rhodies you will ever see in the states.
In case you didn’t know, Rhodesian Ridgebacks are the “Lion Dogs of Africa.” They were bred to sit for hours on end on the edge of the village perimeters and search for danger; basically, lions. Patient, extremely intelligent, gentle as well as rough, self-sufficient, problem solvers, Homer displays all of these qualities and more…
By far his two favorite activities are eating and sleeping. Fetching is beneath him, other dogs bore him and after his 5 am feeding (that’s right, he wakes up every day at precisely 5:01 to eat) he prefers to be left alone until dinner time. Regal and innocent looking all at the same time, he was the perfect choice for our company’s symbol.
